The Royal Shakespeare Theatre  
12 minute walk from The Stratford 

Whether it’s comedy, romance or tragedy, no visit to Shakespeare’s hometown is complete without seeing a show at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Take one of the guided tours for a peak backstage – watch out for ghosts, there are rumoured to be a few!

The Stratford Riverside Walk   
7 minute drive from The Stratford  

An easy 2.4 km walk which takes about 42 minutes and follows the river Avon as it passes a number of points of interest including Shakespeare’s birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s cottage. Dogs are welcome but may need be kept on leads in some areas.

Shakespeare’s Birthplace   
5 minute walk from The Stratford  

You can’t visit Stratford without coming across the town’s most famous export. This modest house, in the centre of Stratford, is where the great playwright was born and the perfect place to imagine yourself sitting at his desk, penning great works of your own.

Shakespeare’s Distillery   
6 minute drive from the Stratford 

Sample a gin or rum named after one of the Bard’s famous characters. Choose from a range of experiences, from a tour and tasting session, to a gin school, cocktail masterclasses and even an hour-long river cruise.

The UK’s largest collection of tropical butterflies is a great day out for the full family. Explore the exotic gardens, fish-filled ponds and beautiful waterfalls while hundreds of butterflies fly freely around.

6 minute walk from The Stratford  

This family-run museum dedicated to mechanical art and design in England is a must for would be scientists, artists and inventors. Warwick Castle   
15 minute drive from The Stratford 

The magnificent Warwick Castle is over 1,000 years old and is one of this country’s most action and history-packed venues. There’s always something going on from jousting to birds of prey shows, so make sure to check the schedule.

The Stratford River Festival   

Sailors of all ages flock to the annual river festival in July. It’s a free event, with live music, food and drink, as well as a boat parade of illuminated vessels and a firework display. Hire a boat or just swing on by to be part of the fun.
